About Us

The club was first registered with the Registry of Friendly Societies on February 14th 1922. It has been located on the present site since that date, it has been substantially renovated and improved in the intervening years. Most notable of which was the relocation in 1971 of the lounge and snooker room at ground level. The snooker room was further modernized in 1988. Recent improvements include complete refurbishment of the lounge area completed in 1998 which included the installation of air conditioning units in the lounge and snooker room.

Current membership is around 500, representing a large cross section of the community. As would be expected are in the main, locally based coming coming from all areas of Redditch, with the largest number being resident on Astwood Bank.

Since its formation the main activity of the club has been playing snooker. However the club also has a very active Fishing section renting a stretch of the river arrow at Alcester. Teams from the club participate in the local darts leagues both ladies and gents, and a domino team competes in the Redditch league. Live entertainment is provided on a monthly basis with a mix of musical and comedy acts on Saturday evenings. On Monday evenings a whist drive is held in the function room where on a monthly local British Legion also meets. The Function room is available for hire and a very reasonable fee. In recent years the club has played host to the British Legion Flower Show which is held in August in conjunction with the clubs, own annual pig roast. This event taking place in the club grounds.
